Chris confident of further progress in Most after improvements in Misano
After a lengthy break between the last round in the Netherlands and this past weekend’s third round of the 2024 FIM Supersport 300 Championship at the Misano World Circuit “Marco Simoncelli” in Italy, America’s Chris Clark showed significant improvement aboard his Smrz Racing Kawasaki racing to twenty fifth and twenty seventh positions on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.
The iconic circuit close to Bologna was another new circuit for Chris who quickly learned the track, slicing seconds off his lap time between Free Practice and Superpole.
Saturday’s opening race was compromised by the fact that Chris had to serve a long lap penalty, but despite this he was able to further improve his lap time by a quarter of a second.
Race two on Sunday was where Chris really excelled. A lap time improvement of almost a second meant a twelve lap multi rider fight ensued enabling Chris to further develop his skills at world championship level.
He will remain in Europe with his team, travelling to Most in the Czech Republic where he will take part in an IDM German Championship race before heading back to the states.
The next round of WorldSSP300 takes place at Most Autodrom in July which thanks to the IDM outing means he will have track knowledge prior to the event.

“It wasn’t a bad weekend at Misano. It was difficult to learn the track in just one session before heading into Superpole. I started off slowly and knew improvements needed to be made. After speaking with the team, they decided on a setup change that was really good and I discovered the importance of a good setup after going into qualifying more confident than ever on a bike. With limited knowledge of the track, I ended up in thirty-fourth on the grid. I was feeling confident with the bike in race one but had a long lap penalty from the Superpole and had a lonely race. Race two was much better I set my best lap of the weekend and had a race long battle which gives me a lot of confidence for the next races. I want to thank the Smrz Racing team for everything they are doing and want to give a special thanks to Rob from Bison, one of my sponsors, who came over to Italy with me for this race.”
