American teenager Chris Clark, whose WorldSSP300 season was cut short, due to injury last year, will once again race under the Smrz Racing banner with former GP and WorldSBK racer Jakub ‘Kuba’ Smrz happy to have secured Chris a place on his team for the year ahead.

Chris, who made his debut with the Czech based squad as a ‘wildcard’ rider two years ago, was a top twenty finisher in the FIM Supersport World Championship last season and will start 2025 full of optimism having shown his potential last year prior to his Magny-Cours spill.

Chris is also no stranger to bLU cRU competition having been invited to the Buriram circuit in Thailand in recent years to compete in the Yamaha R3 bLU cRU Cup of Thailand. He won!

Another change for Chris is his number. He will run #5 and has recently unveiled a new logo incorporating it with his love of solving the Rubix Cube.

In addition to racing, he will test periodically during the year with his Smrz Racing team on a variety of machines – the hope to ensure he is a front runner on track, with one eye on what may be in store for the 2026 season.

Chris Clark:

“I am really excited to be racing in the Yamaha R3 bLU cRU this year and to be staying in the World Superbike paddock is huge for me. I know I will get lots of help and support from the team, especially from Kuba and Joe and I am so happy to be riding with them again. We work well together, and I can’t wait to get going. I rode with the bLU cRU a couple of years ago and was successful and had a blast and I so am looking forward to racing on a Yamaha again! I want to thank everyone who has made this possible, especially my Kuba, my mum and my manager and I want to thank my sponsors Bilmola, and Bison for staying with me for this new adventure, it means a lot.”

Jakub Smrz – Smrz Racing Team:

“As we only had two places in or World Supersport 300 team we had to find solution for Chris to keep him with us. We were thinking about ESBK but as this is going to be last season of Supersport 300 competition plus looking at the logistics of doing both championships that would have been tough. In the end we are happy to have Chris representing us in the Yamaha R3 bLU cRU World Cup to gain some more experience on WorldSBK tracks and to once again be with us in the paddock. I am sure he can be one of the podium contenders and with Troy Sovicka alongside him we have two incredibly talented riders. They are going to be strong team mates. It is an exciting time for Smrz Racing as alongside our Supersport 300 World Championship and Yamaha R3 World Cup campaigns we are already developing bike for the new 2026 category where all riders will be involved in testing and development.”
