Chris reflects on 2023, looking for even more in 2024 as he takes on the best in the world
Ahead of his maiden FIM Supersport 300cc World Championship season with the Accolade Smrz Racing team, American Chris Clark reflects on 2023 and what was a breakthrough year for the talented teen.
Initially set to contest the MotoAmerica Junior Cup last year, Chris also took to the grid as a wildcard in Thailand’s Yamaha R3 bLU cRU series in addition to lining up twice on the WorldSSP300 grid at both Motorland Aragon in Spain and Portimão in Portugal.
Successes in his native America coupled with victory at the Chang International Circuit in Buriram, Thailand opened the door to a double world championship appearance last year and with the honour of becoming the first full time rider from the USA to take part on in the FIM Supersport 300 Championship this coming season the future is bright for Chris who will once again campaign the #27 at prominent circuits in Europe from March.
Chris Clark:
“2023 was a great year full of lots of fun and new experiences. I would like to thank everyone who made it possible. I would like to thank Motoamerica for giving me the opportunity through their racing classes that helped me make it to the world championship. I would also like to thank Bison and Bilmola for keeping me safe and looking good last year. I want to thank all my sponsors who made last year possible and those that are sticking with me into 2024. I would also like to thank Yamaha bLU cRU Thailand for giving me the opportunity to race with them. I will never forget it. I am very thankful to Kuba Smrž and all at Smrž Racing for the chance to make my debut in the world championship with them last year and for the opportunity to race a full season this year. I would like to thank TJ Corse for all the much-appreciated support. I have a new manager and I want to thank him and my family for their belief and constant support. 2023 was great and I hope 2024 is even better!”
